City Overview
Santa Clara is in the heart of Silicon Valley. Santa Clara is surrounded by San Jose and other cities in what we call the "Bay Area." Within Santa Clara County and the surrounding Bay Area, there are a variety of cultural and recreational activities. There are abundant performing arts venues including opera, symphonies, musical theatre, repertory theatre, concerts and the Children's Musical Theater. Directly down the street from the hotel is Great America amusement park, which is only open on the weekends in October.

Local museums and art galleries include the Tech Museum of Innovation, the Rosicrucian Museum, the Children's Discovery Museum, the San Jose Museum of Art, the Triton Museum and many others.

In addition to the wide variety or business, educational, cultural and recreational opportunities within the County, a short hour's drive can bring residents or visitors to the famous Lick Observatory on Mt. Hamilton, the hills of San Francisco, or any number of white sand beaches along the Pacific Ocean from Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay to Monterey and Carmel. Santana Row is a popular destination, close by, full of specialty shops and great restaurants. It's definitely worth a visit. Just across the street from Santana Row is Westfield Mall at Valley Fair, where you'll find hundreds of shops and dozens more restaurants.
