Professional Services Manager (EMEA)

Position Description:
- Primary responsibility for specifying MontaVista Professional Services and training to partners and customers throughout EMEA
- Assist with the management of EMEA Professional Services team including technical and project management
- Assist the MontaVista EMEA Sales force and Channel Partners in identifying and qualifying opportunities and delivering appropriate proposals to be successful in sales
- Ensure adherence to approved processes to deliver consistent margin on Professional Services projects, with successful delivery to customers in terms of time and budget
- Work directly with MontaVista’s offshore development employees and contractors when necessary
- Lead customers in scoping projects, defining project requirements and developing solutions
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer sites to provide Professional Services backup to Sales
- Determine accurate estimates for professional services engineering efforts
- Maintain Communication with customers, engineering and third party developers to ensure Professional Services project success
- Able to work in "highly charged" environments and maintain professionalism
- Professional demeanor and client focused attitude
Skill Set:
- Quick learner who can grasp new technologies, concepts and processes
- Understands the technologies, microprocessor hardware platforms, and programming for the various permutations of embedded software development
- Strong Linux and GNU background
- Knowledgeable about various board configurations and platforms (i.e., IA32, PowerPC, MIPS, ARM, IA64, Strong ARM, Xscale, Super-H, etc)
- Experience with software development tools
- Full lifecycle application development experience especially with OS level software
- Embedded Software Experience
- Able to quickly identify problems and define innovative solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
- Professional Demeanor and client focused attitude
- Minimum Bachelors Degree in CS/EE or related – OR Equivalent work experience
Desirable:
- Experience working in a Professional Services Organization
- Experience with embedded OSes
