Movial and MontaVista Unveil Joint Solution for Device Manufacturers of Consumer Electronics and Mobile Devices at Mobile World Congress
Combined Offering Accelerates Development and Creative Design of Innovative Next-Generation Mobile Applications
MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS – BARCELONA, Spain – February 11, 2008 – Movial, the company that inspires rich, intuitive Internet experiences and MontaVista® Software, Inc., the leader in embedded Linux® commercialization, today announced they will be showcasing their joint developer solution for the first time at Mobile World Congress, February 11-14 in MontaVista's stand number 2.1A72. The combined offering of MontaVista Mobilinux™ 5.0, Linux-based operating system for mobile phones and Movial IXS (Internet Experience Suite), a white label application suite for creating custom branded user interfaces, helps device manufacturers speed development and creative design of next-generation mobile applications for consumer electronics and mobile devices.
The pre-integrated and tested software stack from MontaVista and Movial enables design and development teams to move rapidly from design concept to proof-of-concept to prototype and full-scale production, accelerating time-to-market by up to six months. The combined solution integrates Movial IXS with MontaVista's mobile operating system and Movial's Scratchbox with MontaVista DevRocket development tools providing device manufacturers with a powerful solution to develop custom-branded user interfaces that seamlessly combine Internet browsing, Internet communications, media consumption, and other functionalities needed in mobile devices.
