Embedded Linux Innovator MontaVista Named Finalist in 2007 American Business Awards℠
Named finalist as "Most Innovative Company" for pioneering Linux for mobile devices
SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 15, 2007 –
MontaVista® Software Inc., the leading provider of
Linux® for intelligent devices and communications infrastructure, was named a finalist in the
Most Innovative Company category in the 2007 American Business Awards. MontaVista was
selected due to its growth and dominance in embedded Linux, a market that is expected to grow
exponentially due to rising demand for intelligent mobile devices such as personal navigation
systems, entertainment players, and smart phones.
MontaVista helps NEC, Motorola, Sony, and thousands of other companies meet new
challenges around the convergence of data, voice, and multimedia. Mobile device OEMs,
networking and telecom equipment providers, and their carrier and operator customers, rely on
MontaVista Mobilinux and MontaVista Carrier Grade Linux to provide the backbone software
infrastructure that delivers voice, data, music, video, and location-based services to customers
worldwide.
"Being named a finalist for this award further validates the speed, reliability, and innovative
functions we enable for companies and developers, and our ability to deliver solutions that
match our customers' needs," said Tom Kelly, president and CEO of MontaVista. "Because
many millions of devices around the world run MontaVista Linux, our customers know they can
rely on MontaVista to enable them to deliver unique innovations quickly."
