He is part of the instant messaging application's developing team for Motorola's Linux-based platform, implementing new features and fixing bugs. A considerable amount of these fixes were performance improvements. When he was a college student, André helped organize the first "Linux Party" at the computer science department and along with his classmates won an internal applied computer science competition with a music player built with 386 parts, open-source software, and a very customized and light Linux kernel.
