Senior Linux Systems Administrator

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Information Technology
Responsibilities for local and remote sites:
- Administer, maintain, support and document Virtual and Non-Virtual Windows and Linux servers
- Administer, maintain, support and document Netapp and Storage Arrays
- Administer, maintain and support Network Infrastructure
- Perform installations, configurations and upgrades to Linux and Windows Servers
- Install and maintain server and desktop OS, security and antivirus patches
- Maintain Linux YUM repositories and perform application installations
- Perl and shell scripting to automate systems monitoring, maintenance and alerting of issues
- Linux systems performance, tuning, and enhancements
- Troubleshoot and resolve Windows and Linux server and users environment issues with root cause and failure analysis along with implementing a solution for preventing re-occurrence
- Managing multiple VMWare-ESX / Netapp clusters
- Document processes and procedures to automate common tasks
- Comply with SOX and ISO procedures
- Mentor and assist remote Windows and Linux systems administrators
- Administer, maintain and support Network Infrastructure
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate confidently with all levels of management.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience administering RedHat Enterprise, CentOS, or Scientific Linux
- 5 years of experience with MS Windows, AD, and VMware
- Strong scripting knowledge: Perl scripting, shell scripting
- Must be able to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and effectively
- Strong Knowledge of DHCP, DNS, NIS, LDAP, NFS
- Knowledge of Netapps
- Experience with Cisco switches and routers a plus
- Knowledge RIP,OSPF,BGP and MPLS a plus
- Cisco ASA and Sonicwall Firewall administration a plus
- PXE kickstart and Ghosting a plus
- Off-hour and weekend work will be sometimes required
- 24x7 on call as needed.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience
