Field Applications Engineer

Job Duties Summary:

1. Provide technical support to the company's sales staff and customers with in-depth product knowledge on MontaVista Linux products and services.
2. Oversee pre-sale and/or post-sale support of MontaVista software products as it relates to meeting the technical requirements of the customer or prospect.
3. Prepare and present technical product information in sales presentations, product demonstrations, seminars and trade shows.
4. Assist sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs. Develop solutions based on specific customer requirements.
5. Provide answers to customer inquiries concerning MontaVista software products and applications.
6. Manage all MontaVista software product evaluations. Assist sales staff in developing working relationships with MontaVista Partners.
7. Demonstrate case studies and examples of how to use MontaVista Linux and services to achieve cost savings, higher quality products and quicker time to market.
8. Demonstrate ability to work on customer premises for short periods of time to aid customers in using MontaVista products.

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

BSCS, BSEE or an equivalent applicable Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University.

Specialized Skills Required / Desired:

Minimum five (5) years experience as a Field Applications Engineer with Real-Time Operating Systems and/or Linux products or equivalent applicable position(s)
